1Overview

Christ Connect is a faith-centered matrimonial and community platform designed exclusively for the Christian community across India. It addresses the fragmented landscape of Christian matchmaking — where families currently rely on church notice boards, word-of-mouth, and generic matrimonial sites that lack cultural sensitivity. The platform combines a modern matchmaking experience with a broader community ecosystem: church directory, prayer network, video sermons, a Christian marketplace, donation support for ministries, Bible reading, song books, and Christian news — all under one roof.

The tagline — "One Community, One Faith, One Platform" — captures the vision: a single, trusted digital home for Indian Christians to find life partners, strengthen their faith, and stay connected with their community.

The platform ships as a Flutter mobile app (iOS + Android) backed by a Laravel API, with a web-based Admin/Matchmaker CRM for profile verification, subscription management, and matchmaking oversight. Razorpay powers payments; WhatsApp and push notifications keep users engaged.

3Registration & Profile Creation

Users sign up with their mobile number and receive a 6-digit OTP. After verification, they complete a guided profile wizard that collects: full name, gender, date of birth, denomination (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Pentecostal, CSI, Marthoma, CNI, etc.), community/caste (if applicable), mother tongue, height, weight, education level and field, profession, employer, annual income range, city/state, a short bio ("About Me"), and up to 8 photos. At least one clear face photo is required.

A separate "Partner Preferences" step captures desired age range, height range, denomination(s), community, city/state preferences, diet preference (vegetarian/non-vegetarian/eggetarian), income range, and education level. These preferences power the matching algorithm and filter UI.

Profiles can be created "by self" or "by family member" — a flag that's displayed on the profile card so other users know who they're communicating with.

4Discovery & Matching

The Discover tab surfaces profiles using a weighted-match algorithm that considers partner preferences, denomination compatibility, location proximity, and activity recency. Users see a card-stack or list view of recommended profiles, each showing the primary photo, name, age, city, profession, and a match-percentage badge.

Filters allow narrowing by age, height, denomination, community, education, profession, city, diet, and income. A search bar supports free-text lookup by profile ID or name. "Daily Recommendations" pushes 5–10 curated profiles via notification each morning, increasing engagement and return visits.

Premium users see who viewed their profile and get priority placement in others' feeds. All users can shortlist/favourite profiles for later review.

5Interest, Chat & Matchmaker Introductions

When a user likes a profile, they send an "Interest" request — optionally with a brief personal message. The recipient sees the request in their Interests tab and can Accept or Decline. Upon mutual acceptance, a private chat channel opens between the two users, enabling text messages and photo sharing within the app.

In parallel, the Admin/Matchmaker can manually introduce two profiles they believe are compatible. Both parties receive a "Matchmaker Introduction" notification with the other's profile summary. If both accept the introduction, chat opens — identical to the self-match flow. This dual model (self-service + matchmaker-mediated) serves both tech-savvy young users and families who prefer a guided approach.

Free-tier users can send a limited number of interests per day and cannot initiate chat until they upgrade. Premium users enjoy unlimited interests, direct chat, and the ability to see who expressed interest in them.

6Verification & Trust

Trust is paramount in matrimonial platforms. Christ Connect implements a multi-layer verification system: users upload a government ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID) and a selfie holding the ID. The admin verification queue displays pending submissions; an admin reviews and approves or rejects with a reason. Approved profiles receive a prominent "Verified" badge — a purple shield with a gold checkmark — displayed on their card and profile page.

Church verification is an optional trust signal: a user can request their listed church's pastor to vouch for them. If the church is registered on the platform, the pastor receives a verification request and can confirm the member's active participation.

Reported and blocked profiles are flagged in the admin CRM. Repeated reports trigger automatic suspension pending review. Banned users cannot re-register with the same phone number.

Payments are processed via Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets). Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. The admin CRM shows subscription status, revenue analytics, and allows manual plan upgrades or extensions for support cases.

8Community Features

Beyond matrimony, Christ Connect serves as a community hub with nine content verticals visible on the home screen:

  1. Videos — Sermons, worship sessions, testimonies, Bible study, Christian songs, and Christian news video content. Organized by category with featured/trending sections.
  2. Churches — A searchable directory where churches self-register with profile, service timings, pastor details, location map, and denomination. Users can "follow" churches to receive event updates.
  3. Prayers — Users post prayer requests visible to the community. Others can tap "I Am Praying" to show support, building a wall of collective prayer.
  4. Christian Matrimony — The core matchmaking module (detailed in sections 3–7).
  5. Christian Jobs — Listings from Christian schools, hospitals, NGOs, companies, and Christian workplaces. Employers post; job-seekers browse and apply.
  6. Marketplace — E-commerce for Bibles, Christian books, gifts, worship music, and Christian-themed couple outfits. Cart, COD, and Razorpay checkout.
  7. Donations — "Support a Ministry" module where registered churches and NGOs list funding needs. Users donate via Razorpay; receipts are issued.
  8. Bible — Full Old Testament and New Testament reader with chapter navigation, bookmarks, daily verse, and search.
  9. Christian News — Curated news feed covering Christianity in India and worldwide, sourced via RSS and editorial picks.

9Admin / Matchmaker CRM

The web-based CRM is the operational backbone. It provides a real-time dashboard with KPIs (total users, active this week, pending verifications, new subscriptions, revenue MTD, matches made). Below the KPIs, a set of modules:

  1. User Management — Searchable table of all profiles with filters by status (active, suspended, banned), verification state, subscription tier, denomination, and city. Inline actions: view full profile, approve/reject verification, upgrade plan, suspend, ban.
  2. Verification Queue — A dedicated queue showing pending ID/selfie submissions. Side-by-side comparison view of uploaded ID vs. selfie. One-click approve with verified badge, or reject with a reason (auto-notifies user).
  3. Matchmaking Console — Admin sees two profile panels side by side, can search for compatible profiles, and send an "Introduction" to both parties. Tracks introduction outcomes (accepted/declined/pending).
  4. Subscriptions & Revenue — Subscription ledger, Razorpay transaction log, revenue charts by plan/period, refund processing.
  5. Reports & Moderation — Reported profiles, flagged messages, block log. Admin can view the report reason, take action (warn, suspend, ban), and close the report.
  6. Content Management — Manage videos, church registrations, job posts, marketplace products, news articles, and donation campaigns.

10Notifications

Push notifications (FCM) and in-app notifications cover: new interest received, interest accepted (match made), new message, profile view (premium), daily recommendations, matchmaker introduction, verification status update, subscription expiry reminder, prayer request updates, and church event reminders. WhatsApp notifications are sent for high-priority events (match made, verification approved) via the WhatsApp Business API. Users control notification preferences in settings.

13Open Questions

  1. Should denomination sub-categories (e.g., CSI Tirunelveli vs. CSI Madras) be supported at launch, or V2?

  3. Marketplace: fulfillment by platform (inventory) or seller-fulfilled (aggregator model)?
